Kufuor taunts Mills

- Says he's providing immature leadership
Former President Kufuor at the weekend attributed the “ineffective and immature” leadership being provided for the country under the presidency of President John Evans Attah-Mills to the fact that he did not undergo “political apprenticeship” to prepare himself for the intricate business of governance.

Addressing a milling crowd of NPP faithful who had thronged Mantse Agbonaa, Jamestown in Accra on Saturday, the former President said what is happening in the country shows that “they [NDC] have no solutions,” to loud cheers from the gargantuan crowd. He said the large numbers he was seeing at the rally grounds was just a reflection of what will be happening in upcoming rallies in other parts of the country.

J. A. Kufuor said he was worried with the way the present government led by John Evans Atta Mills kept talking and talking without anything to show to Ghanaians that they were indeed in power to better the lives of Ghanaians.

“The NDC keeps disturbing Ghanaians with immature talk and accusations. Let me tell the ruling government that Ghanaians are very clever and not backward people,” he said.

Clad in white linen top, the gentle giant called on Ghanaians to massively vote for Nana Addo since he can bring the needed change that they have been craving for.

He was shocked that the NDC Administration had paid more than GH¢600 or $400mn in judgment debts asking “for what?”

Touching on the infamous Woyome-gate scandal, Mr. Kufour said he found it difficult to understand why a whopping amount of GH¢51million could be given to an individual and yet the NDC Administration keeps on complaining that the country is broke.

Former President J. A. Kufour, told the crowd what makes the New Patriotic Party a beautiful party was that it was not owned by an individual.

“The beauty about the NPP is that it is not owned by one person. The NPP is an inter-generational party. If you want the oldies you will find them in the party as well as the young ones.” He cited himself as having learnt from Prime Minister Busia when he was a 30 year old Deputy Foreign Minister. He said Akufo-Addo “is a chip of the old block” who had gone through political apprenticeship from the likes of William Ofori-Atta and others, and has been part of Ghana's politics all along unlike someone else [Mills] who was already old when was picked from somewhere by someone to come and join politics.

Again, J. A. Kufuor said the NPP took this country to high levels through various social intervention programmes and good governance. It saddens him therefore to see the country going through the hardships it is facing right now. However, he assured Ghanaians that all is not lost. The NDC Administration should be voted out of power since it is incompetent and too arrogant to even ask for advice from experienced and knowledgeable people on how to solve the issues confronting Ghanaians.

Other party big wigs took turns to address the crowd including the NPP flag bearer Nana Addo, the Youth Organizer, Anthony Karboo, the outspoken MP for Assin North, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong as well as the party chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.
