Need for Nkrumahist parties to unite and win elections

Accra, Sept. 27, GNA – Members of Sankofa Convention People’s Movement, a pressure group within the Convention People’s Party (CPP) has called on the new administration to suspend their short-term political interests and consider forming a coalition with all the Nkrumaists parties to serve the best interest of Ghanaians.

“Samia Nkrumah and the new CPP administration should suspend their short-term political interests and consider forming a coalition with all the Nkrumahists parties – NDC, PNC and GCPP under a bigger umbrella to serve the best interest of Ghanaians now."

The call was made in a statement issued in Accra by Kwabena Adjei, Coordinator of the group.

He said, “Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah urged Nkrumahists to always unite and not depart from each other since it was the only way to win political power in every election. NDC, CPP, PNC, GCPP and other Nkrumahists are divided. We need to come together as a family to win the 2012 elections.”

According to the Al-Hajj newspaper, edited by NDC sympathizer, Alhaji Iddrisu Bature, Mr Rawlings will announce his defection to the largest opposition party in the coming weeks at a mammoth ceremony to be organized by the NPP.
