"It's crazy but just another example of health and safety gone stark raving bonkers."
Initially deliveries to four streets were suspended, but that has now been reduced to two.
Staffordshire County Council said the pavements on the estate are the responsibility of residents as part of their contract with Wimpey, which built the homes.
A spokesman for Royal Mail said they would resume deliveries as soon as the paths are repaired and they hoped residents would “understand” the suspension.
“It is always a last resort if we decide not to deliver to a specific area. We would only make such a decision if the safety of our postmen and women was at risk,” he said.
“We have reluctantly decided to temporarily suspend deliveries to a number of addresses because our postman sustained a serious injury due to the uneven footpath in the area which is in a very poor state of repair. This is far from being a trivial matter and we will not compromise on the safety of our colleagues.
“We have already apologised to customers affected by this temporary suspension. Their mail is currently being made available for them to collect from the local delivery office and we are also offering customers the option of arranging delivery via an alternative address.
