Yaw Buabeng Asamoah
The deputy Director of Communications of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, has been granted bail.
He spent Monday night in the custody of the Police CID for allegedly inciting NPP supporters to protest the arrest of NPP MP of Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong.
Citi News’ Umaru Sanda Amadu, who has pitched camp at the CID headquarters said Mr. Asamoah has since left the premises.
Mr. Asamoah was arrested with a number of opposition aficionados by the police on Monday evening following chaos at various security installations in the capital, Accra, which include the Police Headquarters, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and the Bureau of National Investigations.
Hon. Agyapong is reported to have called on Akans to declare war on Ewes and Gas in the country in a bid to express his dissatisfaction over violence that has characterised the ongoing biometric registration exercise.
