The office of JOY2012 and my own behalf express our sympathy to Kantamanto traders for the loss of their properties. We hope that a better market will be built up for the traders and good financial package that can help these traders to bounce back to business could be laid up for them.
Members of the Press Corps. Oh, what A tumultuous state in Ghana, full of misunderstanding with everybody moving towards the state of maladjustment in the country? Problems come in groups but problems are like pain in the body, they are nature's wonderful way of warning us (both government and the people) that we need to change our ways of doing things. Patriotism is helping us as a nation to overcome the dangers of domso-domso and the 2012 election Petition at the Supreme Court.
One is saddened also to see and hear that ordinary Ghanaians are dying silently due to the prolonged Doctors' strike. The impasse difficult stances by the government and the doctors are making a mockery of the values both Parties proffer to uphold.
This has been aggravated by poor communication from the government's ministers. The nation almost moved to the same condition in October, 2011, when the late President Mills was in office, as captured by a press release from my office on 23rd October, 2011.
I believe H.E. Mahama, will be having more sleepless nights with losses of innocent lives than domso-domso. The bottom line is that, there is no money and we all need words of leadership that give hope to face the future.
Unfortunately, the goodwill that the government needs has been clouded with patronage politics that has impaired the faculties of understanding of people to appreciate how government works by generation of income and its expenditure.
The legal tango of the Doctors' strike will not serve any good purpose and H.E. President Mahama must show goodwill by withdrawing the case from the court and meet with the leadership of the GMA himself. The best is to resolve this impasse through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
Our Doctors on the other hand, with hindsight understanding should gloss over the power of showmanship of government's representative. The shadow of fear might not necessarily be how the government settles the doctors but rather it is more to do with the line of threatening strikes by other workers which the government income cannot satisfy. THIS IS TRUTH AND FEAR OF THE GOVERNMENT.
The office of JOY2012, says, it is still not too late to save our poor people's lives. Every day is ushered in by the darkness of the dawn; let's give ourselves the chance to govern and to be governed by extending the hand of felicitations to the government and to the people, so as not to endanger our existence.
For as Martin Luther stated; 'Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity'. Let's think about this, for we hold the blaze for Africa.
