With past experience, I can boldly say that the death rumour surrounding the former BBA Stargame housemate, Goldie is false. Without any hard feeling, we've had instances where Blackberry broadcast and press release had it that Senegalese/American RnB singer Akon of Konvict Music was dead, stating the hospital and time at which he died in the U.S.A. Later, it turned out to be a media gimmick and that Akon was due for a show in Nigeria. It commanded loads of audience as every one wanted to confirm if Akon was really going to be on the stage since news announced him dead.
Goldie on the other hand, has not gotten the needed media attention after her Big Brother Show. She came out with a single but couldn't make an impact just like Ghana's One Boxer by Keitta. Information reaching us from Kennis Music's camp, Goldie has just shot a reality show with her friend Denrele Edun who was alleged to break the news to the media. It could be a planned gimmick on her upcoming reality show and also a single that is due for release before March.
And to quote the breaking news on Goldie's death, it says: “He told me Goldie died a few minutes ago at Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island. Goldie just came back from the US today he said, and was so full of life, then something went tragically wrong. Will get all the details from him in a bit, he was crying so much and had to switch off his phone.” From the quotation, the writer couldn't get the necessary details hence you can't hold her site responsible for breaking false news as such should it be a gimmick.
On Goldie's social networks, that's on twitter and facebook, the administrator conformed the dead rumour but don't forget, management can easily call it a scam: “Someone might have broke into our password.” Not to talk of Lord Kenya and Eddie Murphy unusual dead tricks, I will rejoice if Goldie's death turns out to be false but Kennis might be classified as incompetent when it comes to publicizing. If Goldie is really dead then may her Soul Rest in Perfect Peace.
